No Purchase Necessary To Participate Or Win. Purchasing Will Not Increase Your Chances Of Winning. Many Will Enter, Few Will Win.
Eligibility: The Take a Player to School Sweepstakes (hereafter, “Sweepstakes”) is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are between the ages of 6 and 13 as of the date of entry. Entrants must have a parent's or legal guardian's permission to participate in this Sweepstakes prior to entering. Children of employees, officers, directors, agents and representatives of the National Football League (hereafter, “Sponsor”), its member professional football clubs, NFL Ventures, L.P., J. C. Penney Corporation, Inc., Project Support Team, Inc. and each of their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, wholesalers, retailers, distributors, suppliers, advertising and promotion agencies (hereafter collectively, “Released Parties”), and any such individual's immediate family members (mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, son and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and those living in their same households, whether or not related, are not eligible to participate or win. Void where prohibited by law. All applicable federal, state and local laws apply.

Promotion Period: Sweepstakes begins 12:00:00 pm (noon) Eastern Time (“ET”) on 7/28/08 and ends 11:59:59 pm ET on 9/29/08 (hereafter, “Promotion Period”).

Two Ways to Enter: 1) Online: Visit www.NFLrush.com or www.jcp.com during the Promotion Period and click on the Take a Player to School Sweepstakes link. Then, follow the instructions provided to complete and submit the pre-registration form including your first name and your parent's/legal guardian's email address. Upon submission, your parent/legal guardian will promptly be sent a confirmation email requesting his/her consent for you to enter this Sweepstakes.
To provide consent for you to enter, your parent/legal guardian will be directed to do the following during the Promotion Period: A) click on the link in the body of the confirmation email which will direct him/her to the entry form page on the Sweepstakes' website; and B) complete and submit the entry form. Upon submission, your entry (as determined by the zip code of the entrant's residential mailing address, at Sponsor's sole discretion) will be entered, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, into the applicable NFL Team Market drawing or the Non-Team Market drawing (as defined in the Winner Selection section below). In the event the submitted zip code falls within two (2) or more NFL Team Markets your parent/legal guardian will be prompted, prior to final submission of the entry form, to select the applicable NFL Team's drawing in which you will be entered. On the entry form, your parent will also have the opportunity to 1) opt you in to receive future communications from the Sponsor regarding its youth programs; and 2) opt him/herself in to receive future communications from Sponsor regarding its promotional offers. Your parent/legal guardian may opt you and/or him/herself out from receiving such communications at any time. The entry form may only be completed and submitted by your parent/legal guardian and no entry will be registered unless and until your parent provides his/her consent as set forth in these Official Rules. All online entries must be received by 11:59:59 pm ET on 9/29/08 to be eligible. By entering you into the Sweepstakes your parent will automatically receive email announcements surrounding this Sweepstakes. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of an online entrant, entrant will be deemed the individual named on the online pre-registration, regardless of whether that individual is the authorized account holder of the email address at issue. 2) Mail-In: During the Promotion Period, complete an Official Entry Form available at participating JCPenney retail stores or through participating NFL Youth initiatives during regular operating hours, while supplies last; or neatly hand-print your complete name, address, city, state, zip code, date of birth and parent's name and daytime telephone number on a plain 3” x 5” piece of paper. Your parent or legal guardian must also: A) sign the entry (Official Entry Form or 3”x5”) providing consent for your participation in this Sweepstakes (otherwise entry will be void); and B) IF, based on the zip code of your residential mailing address on your Official Entry Form or 3”x5”, you fall within two (2) or more NFL Team Markets (as defined in the Winner Selection section below) your parent/legal guardian must write on the Official Entry Form or 3”x5” the NFL Team Market in which your entry is to be entered. If an NFL Team Market is not provided on the Official Entry Form or 3”x5” the Sponsor will select one for you. Mail your Official Entry Form or 3” x 5” piece of paper in an envelope with proper postage affixed for receipt by 10/6/08 to: Take a Player to School Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 14086, Bridgeport, CT 06673-4086. Mail-in entries must be hand-printed.

Limit one (1) entry per person for the duration of the Promotion Period, regardless of the method of entry used. In case of multiple entries from any one person, only the first entry received will be accepted. All entries become the exclusive property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. The use of script, macro or automated or mechanical devices (or any other devices intended to automate any aspect of entry or mechanically reproduce entries) to enter Sweepstakes is prohibited and any entry through such means and any entry that is deemed to be ineligible (at Sponsor's sole discretion and in accordance with these Official Rules) are void. Released Parties are not responsible for late, lost, stolen, damaged, illegible, incomplete, misdirected, delayed, garbled, inaccurate, postage due or undelivered mail, entries, Official Entry Forms or emails or for telephonic, human or computer failures, problems or errors, interruptions in service due to system upgrades, repairs, modifications or other causes, failures or malfunctions of connections, satellite, network, cable, Internet Service Provider (ISP), phones, phone lines or telephone systems, traffic congestion on the internet, technical or mechanical malfunctions, or other malfunctions or errors, whether caused by equipment, programming, human error or otherwise relating to or in connection with the Sweepstakes, including, without limitation, errors which may occur in connection with the administration of the Sweepstakes, the processing of entries or mail or the announcement of the prizes, or for any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in this Sweepstakes, or for printing, typographical, human or other errors appearing in these Official Rules or other Sweepstakes-related materials. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to void any entries of entrants whom Sponsor believes have attempted to tamper with or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of this Sweepstakes or is in violation of these Official Rules.

Unless a parent/legal guardian opts his/her child in to receive future communications from Sponsor about its youth programs, entrants' personally identifiable information will only be used to enter participants in the Sweepstakes and for the announcement and notification of potential winners. Any information collected from children shall be used in accordance with the NFLRush.com Privacy Policy, as posted on www.NFLrush.com. If a parent opts-in to receive future communications from Sponsor, he/she will receive such emails consistent with the National Football League Privacy Policy, as posted on http://www.nfl.com/help/privacy.

Winner Selection: A total of thirty-four (34) potential Grand and thirty-four (34) potential First Prize winners will be selected in a random drawing as follows: One (1) potential Grand and one (1) potential First Prize winner from each NFL Team Market (as defined below) and two (2) potential Grand and two (2) potential First Prize winners from the Non-Team Market (as defined below) will be selected from among all the eligible entries received for each applicable market during the Promotion Period.

MARKETS: NFL Team Market (thirty-two (32) NFL Team Markets in total): Eligible entrants who reside (as determined by the zip code of his/her residential mailing address, at Sponsor's sole discretion) within a 30-mile radius of the city center (City Hall or other location, determined solely by Sponsor) in each NFL Team's home city will be entered into that applicable team's NFL Team Market. For a list of the thirty-two NFL Teams' city center locations (as determined by Sponsor), visit www.NFLrush.com during the Promotion Period. The radius of the following NFL Team Markets may overlap: Baltimore Ravens and the Washington Redskins; New York Giants and the New York Jets; San Francisco 49ers and the Oakland Raiders. As outlined in the Two Ways to Enter Section above, online entrants who fall within two (2) or more overlapping NFL Team Markets will be prompted, during the entry process, to select the NFL Team Market in which he/she would like the entry submitted. The parents/legal guardians of mail-in entrants who fall within two (2) or more overlapping NFL Team Markets will be required to write the name of the NFL Team in which he/she would like the entry submitted directly on the Official Entry Form or 3”x5” piece of paper. Non-Team Market: Eligible entrants who reside (as determined by the zip code of his/her residential mailing address, at Sponsor's sole discretion) outside of a 30-mile radius of an NFL Team's city center (City Hall or other location, determined solely by Sponsor) will be entered into the Non-Team Market.

Drawings will be conducted on or about 10/7/08 by Project Support Team, Inc., an independent judging organization. By entering, entrants and their parents/legal guardians agree to be bound by these Official Rules and to the decisions of the Sponsor and judges, which will be final and binding in all respects. The parents or legal guardians of potential winners will be notified by telephone and/or overnight and/or regular mail. Prizes will be awarded in name of the parent/legal guardian of entrant whose entry is selected as a winner and such parent or legal guardian will be required to fulfill all requirements imposed on winners set forth herein. Odds of winning depend upon the total number of eligible entries received for the applicable market. Non-winning entries from one market drawing will not be included in other market drawings. Limit one (1) prize per person.

Prizes: (34) Grand Prizes (one (1) per each of the thirty-two (32) NFL Team Markets and two (2) for the Non-Team Market): Winner's opportunity to have an NFL player attend school with him/her for a portion of a school day and an NFL Gift Bag consisting of the following officially licensed NFL merchandise: a jersey, hat, t-shirt and sweatshirt. Grand Prize winners may also have the opportunity to assist in the development of fitness activities that may take place on that day. Actual activities are dependant upon both the Sponsor's and the applicable school's full permission and approval. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) = $180 each. The player's school visit may not be recorded, photographed and/or videotaped by winner or any third party for any commercial purpose unless otherwise approved by Sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right to record, photograph and/or videotape all those attending the activities in which the NFL player participates (“School Attendees”) (and such recordings, photographs and/or videotapes shall be owned by Sponsor), and use such recordings, photographs and/or videotapes in any and all media now known or hereafter created throughout the world in perpetuity. School Attendees (and their parents or legal guardians) will be required to execute and return a liability and publicity release prior to the NFL player's attendance at the school. For those Grand Prize winners residing within an NFL Team Market, Sponsor will designate a player from the applicable Market's team (selection of player is at Sponsor's sole discretion). For those Grand Prize winners residing in the Non-Team Market, Sponsor will designate a player (selection of team/player is at Sponsor's sole discretion). Exact date, time and duration of player's attendance at school is at Sponsor's sole discretion. Grand Prize award is dependent upon applicable schools' full approval and cooperation. Player's attendance at school is subject to availability. In the event a player is not available to attend school due to scheduling conflicts, prize will be awarded minus the players' attendance and no compensation or substitution for such portion of the prize will be provided. Exact logos/branding and sizes of merchandise are at Sponsor's sole discretion. Jerseys, t-shirts and sweatshirts are not game worn. Prizes are awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by Sponsor. (34) First Prizes (one (1) per each of the thirty-two (32) NFL Team Markets and two (2) for the Non-Team Market): A $150 JCPenney Gift Card. Gift card is subject to certain terms, conditions and restrictions as specified by issuer. All costs and expenses associated with the acceptance and use of prize not specified herein as being awarded, including, but not limited to, all federal, state and local taxes, are the sole responsibility or each winner's parent or legal guardian. Total ARV of all prizes: $11,220. All prize details are at Sponsor's sole discretion.

Miscellaneous: No transfer, assignment, cash redemption, or substitution of prize (or portion thereof) is permitted except by Sponsor who reserves the right to substitute a prize (or applicable portion thereof) with one of comparable or greater value, at its sole discretion. The parents/legal guardians of the potential Grand Prize winners will be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability and (where legal) Publicity Release within two (2) days of date of issuance of notification. Applicable school may also be required to execute a release prior to player attendance. Non-compliance with the foregoing, with these Official Rules, the inability to contact a potential winner's parent or legal guardian within a reasonable time period or the return of prize or prize notification as non-deliverable may result in disqualification and, at Sponsor's discretion and time permitting, awarding of prize to an alternate winner for the drawing at issue. Entrants and their parents/legal guardians agree, by entering, that 1) Sponsor and its designees may use (unless prohibited by law), entrant's name, city and state of residence, photograph, any recordings and/or likeness for advertising, trade and/or any other purposes in any media now or hereafter known throughout the world, in perpetuity, without further compensation, permission or notification, and 2) the Released Parties shall have no liability and will be held harmless by entrant and his/her parent/legal guardian for any claim, action, liability, loss, injury or damage to entrant or any other person or entity, including, without limitation, personal injury or death to entrant or any other person or damage to personal or real property, due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by reason of the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the prize and any activity thereto (including, but not limited to, attendance and participation in the activities with NFL player) or participation in this Sweepstakes. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, suspend, and/or terminate this Sweepstakes (or portion thereof) should virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes, including, but not limited to, war, strikes, and/or acts of God, corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the Sweepstakes and, in the case of termination, at its discretion, select winners for drawing at issue from eligible non-suspect entries received for such drawing prior to the event requiring such termination. CAUTION: Any attempt to deliberately damage or undermine the legitimate operation of this Sweepstakes is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages (including attorneys' fees) and/or other remedies from any such person(s) responsible for the attempt to the fullest extent permitted by law.
